Last week I posted a video about breakup advice from a 30 year old. Well, about 5-6 years ago, I wanted to start a YouTube channel, which didn’t end up happening. But I did record a few videos and one of them happens to be a video about breakups.

At first, I wasn’t going to post it because I was afraid it would be cringe-worthy. I also figured, advice from 30 year old me is probably better than 25 year old me. Surprisingly, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. Goes to show, we really could be harsher than we need to be. Off topic word of advice: Don’t be our own worst critic. Learn to give yourself grace.

Anyways, I decided to show it because it’s authentic. Some of the advice is the same and some of it is different. That’s good though because that’s what’s supposed to happen. Remember last week, I talked about learning through mistakes as the years go on? Well, that’s exactly what happened. The 25 year old me, probably spent a lot more time going out, having fun, and “forgetting about the relationship”. The 30 year old me, still had some fun, but also made time for reflection, staying in, engaging in healthy self-care, and processing the relationship. To be honest, it might have been a little harder to address myself head-on and have honest conversations with myself this time, but it was worth it. The 25 year old advice, was probably easier, gave me more room for deflection, and fun, but it didn’t get me the results I needed.

So here is a video about heartbreak from a younger Carissa. And thank God it’s the only other video I have because the world does not need advice from teenage or 21 year old Carissa haha.

I hope you enjoy it.
